What are the characteristics of a Maltese?

Maltese are the most loving and friendliest dogs. The have a nice silky white coat hanging straight to the ground. It can either be wavy, curly, or kinky looking. It should be made up of shiny, thick, or heavy hair. The color tends to be pure white most of the time.They have long pendant ears and the tail are thickly covered with hair and falls over on their own backs. The eyes are usually dark, round, large, and deep with dark rims. The nose are tiny and black with open nostrils. Body figure is long and has a fine boned body, but sturdy. They love to play. They are devoted to their master. They do well with other animals. They will get a long with your own children, they may snap sometimes.  They can live up to 15 years of age. They need exercise regularly.
